Noarlunga Centre

Use your Child & Family Health expertise to improve child safety, strengthen families and create lasting community impact.

The Role

Restore Intensive Family Services (IFS) is a voluntary, child‑centred and family‑focused program that supports families with children from unborn to 18 years of age who are experiencing multiple and complex challenges. Using a restorative, strengths‑based approach, RESTORE works alongside families to improve child safety, increase parenting capacity, strengthen family functioning, and enhance connections to community, cultural and support networks.

As a Clinical Nurse, you will provide health expertise within a multidisciplinary team, delivering outreach support directly in family homes and community settings. You will assess health, developmental and well‑being needs, provide health education and therapeutic interventions, and support families to reconnect with health and community services.

This role plays a critical part in identifying health and developmental factors that may impact child safety and well‑being, while advocating for families and helping them navigate complex health systems, including primary health, specialist services, disability supports and the NDIS where relevant.

Key Responsibilities

- Conduct comprehensive health, developmental and well‑being assessments for children and families, identifying needs that impact child safety and family functioning.
- Deliver outreach‑based nursing interventions, health education and therapeutic support that build health literacy and strengthen parenting capacity.
- Support families to access and navigate health, medical, developmental and disability services through referrals, advocacy and practical assistance.

- Provide clinical expertise within a multidisciplinary team, contributing to case planning, risk assessment and child protection outcomes.
- Deliver culturally safe, trauma‑informed and family‑centred practice while maintaining accurate documentation and contributing to continuous service improvement.

See attached position description for full details.

- Experience working with vulnerable families with complex family dynamics or needs.
- Experience working within a multidisciplinary setting.
- Sound theoretical knowledge of the impact of childhood trauma and factors affecting development and attachment.
- Previous experience in coaching peers or delivering capability building programmes within level of experience and training is highly regarded.

Special Conditions

- May be required to work flexibly to provide some services outside of business hours.

- Work environment varies between office and external locations to meet with key stakeholders, allied health teams and family home visits.

- Ongoing, part‑time (0.6–0.8 FTE).
