Engineer - Malaysia

Who we are looking for

Our Global Construction Services (GCS) strategic business unit is looking for an Engineer who will be responsible for developing and enhancing existing products and introducing current products from an engineering perspective to be suitable to our customers’ specific needs.

What you’ll do

- Plan and modify product configurations to meet customer needs.
- Confer with customers and engineers to assess product needs and determine system requirements.
- Consult or negotiate with clients to prepare project specifications.
- Collaborate with sales teams to understand customer requirements, promote the sale of company products, and provide sales support.
- Develop, present, or respond to proposals for specific customer requirements including request for proposal responses and industry-specific solutions.
- Assist in providing information related to tenders for projects and the like.




- Diagnose problems with manufactured or installed products and make recommendations for improvement or rectification.

What you’ll bring

- Professional engineer with tertiary qualifications (preferably Mechanical) and broad engineering experience in an appropriate field for a minimum of 5 years.
- Strong management, organisational and planning ability.
- Strong skills using Engineering systems.
- Strong knowledge of Quality Systems standards/practices, local Standards and determination of conformance.

Within 3 months, you’ll

- Complete your Atkore immersion program.
- Develop relationships with the key stakeholders for this role (Internal & External).
- Learn the fundamentals of our company’s engineering processes.
- Take full ownership over engineering processes.

Within 6 months, you’ll

- Have a clear understanding of our business, products, commercial structure, and contribute to setting, developing, and executing strategies.
- Have a strong understanding of engineering systems, processes, and ability to manage them.
- Lead Engineering department.

Within 12 months, you’ll

- Be subject matter expert in your processes.
- Provide suggestions for improvement to current processes that pertain to your responsibilities.
- Become integral member of the local Atkore team.
