Responsibilities

- Conduct supplier selection for a specific product, leveraging an approved supplier list.
- Partner with strategic suppliers to accelerate product development via activities such as concept scoping to solidify requirements, feature trade-offs, and total cost of ownership modeling.
- Joint design development through clear statements of work and simulation of mechanical and electronics designs.
- Drive commercial strategy, development and execution of sourcing strategy using market knowledge, supplier rationalisation, and pricing plans to drive efficiency and cost reductions.
- Lead development and consolidation of a manufacturing BOM, collaborating with Quality & Manufacturing to ramp production internally and with suppliers with high flexibility.
- Accountable for all NPI component procurement, on-time and correctly, to scale up manufacturing operations.




- Manage supplier-related CAPEX verification during NPI and conduct value-stream mapping to optimize lead times and flexibility.
- Complete BOM risk assessments and develop part-level analysis plans; ensure component qualifications are completed ahead of production need dates.
- Reduce supply chain complexity through commonality optimization and component/supplier rationalisation.
- Lead all cost engineering activities to converge the bottom-up cost curve to product cost and maximize TCO across the product lifecycle.
- Manage ad-hoc cost issues such as tariffs, import/export costs, and cost inflation.

Required Qualifications

- Background in design & development of mechanical and/or electronics devices.
- Advanced sourcing activities, including roles as a commodity or sourcing manager.
- Early supplier engagement ahead of product/engineering requirement realization.
- Domain expertise in value/procurement engineering or TCO-related work at the component and product level.
- Familiarity with developing high-tech products in a high-mix, low-volume environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering (BSME, BSEE) or related technical degree.
- Eligibility to obtain an Australian NV1 clearance.
