National / Operations Manager – Fuel – Tier 2 Contractor

Join a market-leading Tier 2 contractor with a robust reputation for delivering complex projects in defence, aviation and industrial sectors. The location of this role is fairly flexible due to the company’s national presence.

Overview

We are seeking an experienced National Operations Manager or Construction Manager to oversee fuel pipeline projects ranging from $2m to $150m+. You will lead teams from tendering through to delivery, ensuring high quality service and client satisfaction.

Responsibilities

- Business development and tendering
- Design comprehensive project programmes and communicate to the team
- Project delivery from inception to completion
- Ensure construction programmes & quality meet objectives
- Identify and manage construction risk throughout projects
- Manage project expenditure and cash flow
- Oversee external engineering design aspects
- Design management
- Produce progress reports
- Deliver and manage client expectations





Qualifications & Requirements

- Tertiary qualification in Engineering, Construction Management or similar
- 10+ years’ experience delivering projects end-to-end, ideally in fuel services with Tier 1 or 2 contractors
- Proven leadership in building and motivating high‑quality teams
- Experience delivering greenfield projects
- Knowledge of local council and regulatory requirements/standards
- Strong planning and project financial reporting skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Well‑developed interpersonal skills
- Proficient with Microsoft Office suite
- Construction Safety Induction (white card)
