Job Title: Grade 2 Occupational Therapist – Rural Allied Health Team
Employment Type: Permanent Full Time
Classification: Grade 2 (VF6-VF9)
Location: Community Health
Job Summary
Come and join the GV Health Rural Allied Health Team (RAHT), a team with a well‑renowned supportive workplace culture. In this role you will work autonomously, undertake a varied and diverse workload and provide interventions in predominantly home based settings, making a true difference to our clients’ independence and well‑being. There is no nursing home work.
Your multidisciplinary team will include Dietetics, Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Podiatry, Social Work and Speech Pathology services, supported by Allied Health Assistants.
Responsibilities
- Travel across the Goulburn Valley region working in home and clinic settings
- Work with clients, carers and families to provide practical solutions to promote independence and safety at home
- Develop goals and care plans to assist clients remain at home and active in their local community
- Complete equipment prescriptions, home modifications, advise on pressure care management/seating
- Develop in home and community based therapy programs
- Work with a diverse range of clients and health conditions
- Participate in student training programs
- Participate in service development and quality improvement initiatives
A comprehensive orientation programme is available, along with supervision and support opportunities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Occupational Therapy or equivalent and eligibility for membership of professional association
- Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as an Occupational Therapist
- Knowledge of the delivery of Occupational Therapy services within home, group and community settings, including home modifications and prescription of assistive technologies
- Knowledge of the service system and ability to liaise and advocate across the full spectrum of health and community care
- A clear/satisfactory result from the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) or willingness to obtain before commencement
