Senior Project Officer, Aged Care and System Priorities

The Senior Project Officer is primarliy responsible for supporting processes that ensure the safe and compassionate operation of VAD in Victoria. This includes undertaking compliance reviews of VAD cases and identifying opportunities for continuous process or policy improvements. The role analyses case documentation, prepares compliance reports and recommendations for the VAD Review Board as well as coordinates follow-up actions and correspondence arising from Board decisions. The position also identifies compliance risks, maintains issues registers and provides expert advice on complex compliance matters.
The role sits within the Service Commissioning and System Oversight team which provides program management and stewardship of the palliative care and VAD system. The successful applicant will also contribute to stakeholder engagement and program management activites. This includes liaising with key internal and external stakeholders, supporting policy and legislative initiatives, developing high-quality written reports or materials, and leading or contributing to projects that strengthen program effectiveness, reduce risk and support the delivery of a safe and accountable end of life care system.

About you:
- Negotiates with stakeholders and peers with the object of gaining co-operation and meeting timelines for delivery of project, service or advice.
- Uses specialist knowledge within a confined field to challenge policies and professional concepts. Applies complex concepts to policy development or research.
- Accountable for achievement of established corporate objectives including the formulation and implementation of local business plans
- Oversees the management of the contracts to ensure timelines, budgets and other objectives are met; resolves contract difficulties as required; ensures good working relationships exist between stakeholders
Qualification/Specialist Expertise
- A tertiary qualification in fields related to health, law, and/or public policy would be desirable.
- Experience in government, law or application of legislation, health sector and/or health service delivery would be desirable, with skills and experience in project management and implementation.
