ABOUT THE ROLE
Reporting to the Project Manager – Union Hill we are seeking an experienced Senior Underground Mine Geologist responsible for all in-mine geological activity at the Union Hill Underground Gold Mine. Maximising ore body value and drive operational efficiency. The scope includes recruitment and management of the geology team, leadership of in-mine exploration, grade-control and production activities, and establishment of robust systems and processes to both deliver targets and support the business as a whole.
Is this you?
- Bachelor’s Degree in Geology/Geological Science
- At least 6 years of proven experience as a Senior Mine Geologist in an underground workplace
- Proficiency in structural geology, lithological logging, and orebody interpretation
- Solid understanding of gold mineralisation
- Strong understanding of geological principles, grade control, resource modelling and mining operations
- Proven analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex geological datasets and communicate outcomes clearly
- Experience with geotechnical assessment and rock mass classification
Desirable (not essential) experience that you may have
- Experience with orogenic gold deposits
- Geotechnical training
- Previous experience in Contractor Management
- Experience in establishing a new Site, systems and processes
- Australian Working Rights
- Australian C-Class Drivers Licence
- National Police check clearance
- Ability to pass a pre-employment medical with drug and alcohol screen
