The location and Lifestyle:
Mt Carbine has a rich history of tungsten production and is strategically and conveniently located only 75 kms from the beautiful seaside town of Port Douglas in Far North Queensland where the Daintree Forest meets the Great Barrier Reef. The Mt Carbine Tungsten mine is 120km North of Cairns International Airport via sealed highway. Neighbouring the Mt Carbine township on the Mulligan Highway, The Mt Carbine Tungsten Mine is central to Mossman, Port Douglas, Mareeba, Julatten and Mt Molloy. For those with families, there is a choice of private and public schools, as well as universities and technical education facilities in the region.
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Supervisor (Crushing and Screening)
to join the health and safety team at the Mt Carbine Tungsten Mine.
Reporting to the Coordinator - Operations, this position is responsible for leading the day-to-day operation of the processing plant while ensuring safe, efficient and reliable production. The successful candidate will supervise personnel, optimise plant performance, coordinate shutdown activities, provide training and mentoring, and drive continuous improvement across all aspects of the operation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and supervise the safe and productive operation of the processing plant.
- Monitor and optimise plant performance, product quality and production throughput.
- Record and report production, safety and environmental data.
- Provide training, mentoring and support to operators and contractors.
- Coordinate plant shutdowns and liaise with maintenance personnel.
- Troubleshoot operational issues and carry out minor repairs where appropriate.
- Promote continuous improvement initiatives and maintain compliance with company policies and procedures.
Key Selection Criteria:
- Current C Class driver's licence.
- Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across all levels of the organisation.
- Strong organisational, time management and communication skills, with the ability to manage changing priorities and meet deadlines.
- Sound computer skills, including intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills,
with the ability to maintain a high level of professionalism and confidentiality.
- The ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
- Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills and the ability to use initiative.
- A commitment to secure work practices and continuous improvement.
- A high level of physical fitness, with the ability to undertake the physical demands of the role.
