Position summary
The Housing Program Coordinator is responsible for managing the entry of newly arrived migrants into short-term accommodation and then sourcing and facilitating their transition to long-term accommodation.
The Coordinator will develop cooperative relationships with a number of Cultura Settlement and Community Services staff, Real Estate Agents, private rental providers and other housing related external service providers.
The successful application will align their practice with the Settlement Council of Australia (SCOA) Settlement Sector Quality Framework and related Settlement Outcome Standards, practices and principles.
This position will be contracted on a permanent part time basis, working 22.5 hours per week.
Duties
Manage a property portfolio of short- and long-term accommodation utilised by newly arrived Humanitarian entrants
Arrange suitable and welcoming short-term accommodation for clients on arrival
Develop and foster successful working relationships with key stakeholders
Assist clients with utility connections
Follow up on maintenance requests from clients, and be a contact point for Real Estate agents
Work as part of a team and with key stakeholders to transition clients to long term accommodation through a planning process with each client, including providing the support required
Transfer current head leased properties by Cultura into the names of clients
Advise clients of rental increases
Qualifications and Experience
Essential
Fully unrestricted Victorian driver's license;
Previous experience in the Housing Sector; including public, social, community and real estate agencies or not for profit housing services
Experience in working with multicultural communities;
Expertise in program design and the development of practice processes;
