Your idea of a great day?
Turning a first-time event participant into a confident one, talking a team member through something tricky, and still finding time to improve the process.
We've been looking for you.
When someone commits to cycling across a continent for a month, walking 42km through Perth at dawn, or swimming every day in May for a cause close to their heart — that takes courage. The experience they have along the way matters. The questions they have, the help they need, the moments that make them feel seen and supported — that's what our Supporter Experience team is here for.
We're looking for a Senior Community Engagement / Supporter Experience Coordinator to join Donor Republic and lead the delivery of that experience across some of Australia's most meaningful fundraising campaigns.
You can be based in Australia or New Zealand. We are open to you working full remote or hybrid - we have offices in Melbourne, Sydney and Adelaide.
About Donor Republic
Donor Republic is Australia and New Zealand's leading full-service fundraising and marketing agency. We partner with charities and not-for-profits to help them raise more, connect better with supporters, and build lasting impact.
Our team of specialists works across the full fundraising mix — from events and peer-to-peer campaigns to individual giving and digital. We're ambitious, we love what we do, and we care deeply about the causes our clients serve.
About the opportunity
This is a hands-on leadership role sitting between the Supporter Relationship Coordinators and the Supporter Experience Director. You'll lead day-to-day delivery of supporter care across a portfolio of fundraising clients — managing inbound and outbound communications across phone, email, SMS and social media — while also coaching and supporting a small team of Coordinators.
You'll be the team's first point of contact when things get complex or fast-moving — triaging workload, troubleshooting in the moment, and knowing when to escalat. At the same time, you'll be closely involved in the work itself: responding to supporters, developing social content, monitoring quality, and helping shape better supporter journeys.
What you'll do
Lead day-to-day execution of supporter care across phone, email, SMS and social media, ensuring every interaction is timely, accurate and reflects each client's values
Act as escalation point for complex or sensitive supporter enquiries, working with the Supporter Experience Director and Accounts teams to resolve issues
Supervise, coach and guide two Supporter Relationship Coordinators, triaging workload, coordinating daily handovers, and supporting their development
Previous team leadership or supervisory experience is preferred but not required for this position
Develop and manage organic social media content across client communities, responding to messages, tracking trends, and building engagement
Monitor supporter interactions across the team for quality, tone, and consistency with fundraising best practice
Manage CRM and data entry with high accuracy using HubSpot, Funraisin and other platforms
Contribute to process improvement and continuous development of the team's tools and systems
Support the Supporter Experience Director with reporting and performance metrics
What you'll bring
Experience in supporter care, donor services, customer experience or a closely related field — ideally in a not-for-profit, charity, or fundraising context
A minimum of 1-2 years of experience in supporter care, donor services, customer experience or related fields is required
Confidence managing communications across multiple channels simultaneously, with strong written and verbal skills
Experience with CRM or customer service platforms (HubSpot, Funraisin, or equivalent) and comfort picking up new digital tools quickly
A natural ability to guide and support others, with the instinct to know when to step in and when to step back
Strong attention to detail and a commitment to data accuracy and privacy
Social media confidence — you understand how to engage a community with empathy, not just broadcast content
The ability to stay calm, organised and solutions-focused when things get busy
A genuine connection to the not-for-profit sector and the people who give to it
Why Donor Republic
We work with charities that are genuinely changing lives — from health research and disaster relief to community services and conservation. The work matters, and so does the team doing it.
At DR, you'll be part of a cooperative, expert team that takes quality seriously but doesn't take itself too seriously. We invest in our people, celebrate bold ideas, and believe the best outcomes come from working closely together — with each other and with our clients.
Donor Republic is committed to increasing Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander employment and strongly encourages applications from First Nations people.
Candidates must have Australian or New Zealand work rights to be eligible for this position.
