Now, we're expanding our Overhead Wiring (OHW) team and have multiple roles for skilled
Traction Linesperson – Overhead Wiring
to work on critical infrastructure that keeps our network running. If you're trade-qualified and thrive working at heights, outdoors, and with purpose—this is your next move.
The Prospect
You'll join our high-performing team, maintaining and upgrading Adelaide's rail power network. Your expertise will keep trains moving and passengers safe.
Key Responsibilities:
Install, maintain, repair and replace OHW equipment in accordance with predefined work programs to ensure the safe and effect operation of the traction power network
Plan, implement and manage High Voltage Switching and permit issuing
Respond to callouts and network emergencies
Complete and fill out the work orders in our computer-based Asset management system (Maximo) – training will be provided
Work at heights on rail-connected overhead wiring,



without supervision
Ensure all work is performed in accordance with WH&S; requirements and legislative policies including work activities performed by other employees
Assist work in the rail corridor that is associated with working at heights using Mobile Elevated Work Platforms (includes limited vegetation remove, structural inspection and minor structural work)
Be willing to work a day and night roster
About You
You're a qualified linesperson with a strong sense of accountability and safety. You're adaptable, resilient, and ready to work on a complex network that powers South Australia's rail transport system.
To hit the ground running, you'll need:
Previous experience as a Traction Linesperson or a similar role
Cert III in Traction Linesman or Cert III in Distribution Linesmen
Current High-Risk Licence (DG, WP, LF, RB)
Current and valid driver's licence and HR licence
HV Switching ticket and First Aid + LV Rescue (Training or Refresher Provided)
Ability to Operate Road Rail (EWP) vehicle
Perform Pole top and EWP rescue. Perform EWP controlled descent escape
Must be able to obtain a Category 1 Safety Critical Rail Worker health assessment
Skilled in the installation, repair, replacement and maintenance of OHW equipment.
