Mercy Catholic College Chatswood is seeking an enthusiastic, innovative and highly skilled English Teacher to join our thriving learning community. This temporary full-time maternity leave position offers the opportunity to teach English through to Stage 6 and inspire young women to achieve their academic potential. The role commences in Week 6, Term ****** (26 August ****) and concludes at the end of Term ******.
Mercy Catholic College, Chatswood is a systemic girl's secondary school on the Lower North Shore of Sydney. The school was established in **** by the Sisters of Mercy. The first lay Principal was appointed in ****. The enrolment of the college is 650 students.

Highly effective, skilled classroom practitioner committed to the ethos of the Catholic School
A deep commitment to safeguarding as everyone's responsibility and prioritising child safety
Capacity to contribute to the school's Continuous Improvement Cycle and is committed to student achievement
Able to teach secondary English
Proven ability to apply sound pedagogical practices to create a motivating and engaging learning environment that caters to the needs of all learners
Skilled in analysing and reflecting on student learning data to ensure learning growth for all students;
Highly effective in managing and facilitating safe and supportive learning environments with an understanding of positive student welfare practices
Willingness to contribute to the broader extracurricular aspects of school life as an active member of the school community




Ability to work collaboratively as part of a dynamic professional learning community.
Proficient in the use of technology to enhance student learning
Applicants who are not currently working in a Broken Bay systemic school must have a 4-year training qualification or be enrolled to undertake further study that will provide them with a four-year trained qualification to be eligible to apply for any teaching position in the Diocese.
