QUALIFIED CHEF 25–38 HOURS PER WEEK

ABOUT THE ROLE

This role will report to and work closely under the guidance of our Head Chef. You'll help lead the kitchen in delivering fresh, high-quality food with consistency, creativity, and care—while supporting our Head Chef in daily operations, team leadership, and upholding the values that make Silver Spoon special.

RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES
Support the Head Chef in planning and creating seasonal menus that reflect the café's values
Prepare and cook high-quality dishes with consistency and attention to detail
Assist in overseeing daily kitchen operations and food preparation
Help lead, train, and motivate kitchen staff in collaboration with the Head Chef
Maintain inventory, ordering, and stock control
Maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene, and cleanliness
Monitor food costs and minimise waste




Ensure timely and effective service during busy periods
Collaborate with front-of-house team to deliver excellent customer experiences
Adapt to seasonal ingredients and menu changes
Troubleshoot and problem-solve in a quick-paced environment
Maintain all kitchen equipment and report maintenance issues
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations
Contribute ideas for new dishes and specials
Support the café's sustainability and ethical sourcing goals
Be a positive role model and ambassador for Silver Spoon
