About the Role
The University of Newcastle's School of Health Sciences is seeking to appoint a Lecturer or Senior Lecturer in Speech Pathology to play a key role in delivering excellence in teaching, research, and engagement.
Working collaboratively across the University and with clinical partners, you will help advance educational research, build meaningful partnerships, and contribute to the ongoing development of the speech pathology discipline. The role also includes participation in service and administrative activities within the School, College, University, profession, and broader community.
Depending on appointment level, you may also undertake broader leadership responsibilities.

About You
You are a motivated and forward-thinking Speech Pathologist with a passion for teaching, research, and advancing professional practice. Bringing clinical expertise and a collaborative approach, you will contribute to a dynamic academic environment and help shape the next generation of speech pathologists.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
A PhD in Speech Pathology, with interdisciplinary experience that can contribute to course coordination and Work Integrated Learning.
Clinical expertise in speech pathology and an understanding of emerging issues affecting the profession, tertiary education, and clinical practice.
A demonstrated record of publications and/or educational scholarship/research outcomes, including collaborative projects, partnerships, and evidence of impact on policy, practice, or industry. The ability to supervise Honours, Master's and/or Higher Degree by Research students.
A proven ability to deliver high-quality teaching, respond to feedback, and innovate learning experiences.
Experience contributing to undergraduate teaching, including course coordination,



curriculum design, and course delivery.
Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively and respectfully within a team environment.

For appointment at Level C (Senior Lecturer),
you will demonstrate an established record of leadership and achievement across teaching, research and engagement, including curriculum design, success in securing research funding, strong industry partnerships, and the capacity to provide strategic leadership within the program and discipline.
Additionally, the successful candidate must live in or around the Newcastle area. This requirement reflects the need for ongoing collaboration with local teams and stakeholders, as well as the ability to attend onsite activities required of the role.
