Where you'll be working
Wollongong Hospital is the Illawarra and Shoalhaven's major referral and teaching hospital with more than 500 beds.
It provides inpatient, outpatient and community-based services.
Bulli Hospital opened in August **** and provides inpatient, outpatient, allied health services and an urgent care centre.
Shoalhaven Hospital is a busy rural hospital with over 1,000 staff and provides emergency care, medical, surgical and orthopaedic services, including an intensive care unit and a children's ward.
Milton Ulladulla Hospital is situated in the heart of the historic village of Milton and offers a range of services.
Shellharbour Hospital is a 197 bed acute facility offering inpatient, outpatient, community services and emergency care.
Coledale Hospital specialises in aged care services and dementia care units.
What you'll be doing
The Resident Medical Officer will provide effective, safe medical care to patients under supervision, as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
The RMO may be allocated to various hospitals across the Illawarra Shoalhaven Local Health District and undertake patient care consistent with their clinical competency and experience, developing broad skills in clinical decision making and practice.

Selection Criteria
MBBS or equivalent, currently registered or eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia.
At least one year working as a medical officer.
Demonstrated ability to work independently in a supervised environment.
Preparedness and ability to participate in after‐hours and overtime rosters.
Excellent communication skills (both written and oral).
Ability to move between services and geographical locations to deliver patient care, including rural locations.
Evidence of continued professional development and commitment to self‐education.
A professional attitude and flexibility in work role.
Successful applicants must provide certified documentation of vaccination history and pathology and be compliant with Occupational Assessment, Screening and Vaccination Against Specified Infectious Diseases.
Criminal record checks will be undertaken on successful applicants.
This position requires a Working With Children clearance.
