With our Head Office located in Tomago, we are seeking a motivated and experienced Purchasing Officer / Stores Coordinator to become a key member of our operations team.This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys a fast-paced environment, takes pride in maintaining organised systems, and understands the importance of keeping projects supplied and running efficiently.About the RoleReporting directly to WRS Works Manager and Office Manager , you will be responsible for coordinating the procurement and control of materials required for fabrication, construction projects, and general stock holdings.Key responsibilities include:Purchasing project materials, consumables, and stock itemsManaging supplier orders and expediting deliveriesMonitoring and tracking purchase orders from placement through to receiptLiaising with Project Managers, Supervisors,
and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materialsMaintaining inventory levels and stock control systemsIdentifying current suppliers and negotiating competitive pricingReceiving and issuing stock from the warehouse and stores areaEnsuring all purchasing and inventory records are accurately maintainedAssisting with general stores and yard operations as requiredAbout YouPrevious experience in purchasing, procurement, stores, or inventory managementStrong organisational and time-management skillsExcellent attention to detail and problem-solving abilityIntermediate to advanced computer skillsExperience with BusinessCraft or similar ERP systems (desirable)Current Driver's LicenceA strong commitment to workplace health and safetyKnowledge of building, steel, or construction materials (highly regarded)The ability to work independently while supporting a broader project teamWhy Join Williams River Steel?
