About the Role: An opportunity is available for a Management Accountant to join a purpose-driven organisation operating within the regulated community and not-for-profit sector . Based in Lismore , this role supports the organisation’s financial management through accurate reporting, strong financial controls, and effective management of cashflow that supports essential community services.
Working within a collaborative finance team, you will play a key role in maintaining financial accuracy, supporting compliance requirements, and providing financial insights to support operational decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and maintain accurate financial records, reconciliations and supporting documentation
Manage grant and funding accounting, including recognition, acquittals, and compliance reporting
Coordinate end-of-month processes, including journals, accruals, prepayments and balance sheet reconciliations
Assist in the preparation of monthly financial and management reports
Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities
Assist with internal and external audit processes and maintain audit-ready documentation
Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulatory reporting requirements
Work closely with internal stakeholders to support financial reporting and funding accountability
Contribute to improvements in financial systems, reporting tools and internal controls
About You
You are a detail-focused accounting professional who enjoys working in a structured setting and supporting organisations that deliver meaningful services to the community.
You Will Bring
Tertiary qualifications in Accounting or Finance
CPA or CA qualification (or currently working towards)
Experience in management/financial accounting, reporting and reconciliations
Strong understanding of accounting standards and financial compliance
Advanced Excel and robust analytical capabilities
Excellent organisational and time management skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team
