Project Manager – Earthworks (FIFO)

Lead the delivery of one of Queensland's largest renewable energy infrastructure projects. Symal Infrastructure is seeking an experienced Project Manager – Earthworks to join our team on a 2:1 FIFO roster delivering the Gawara Baya Wind Farm in North Queensland.

About the Project

The Gawara Baya Wind Farm is a landmark renewable energy development located approximately 2.5 hours from Townsville. Symal Infrastructure has been awarded the major civil works package, including:
68 Wind Turbine Foundations
78 km of Internal Access Roads
1.8 million m³ of Earthworks
55,000 m³ of Concrete
800,000 tonnes of Crushed Gravel
Major Bridge Construction
Peak Workforce of 300+

About The Role

You will be responsible for:
Leading the planning and delivery of large‑scale earthworks packages
Managing project programs, budgets, resources, and subcontractors
Driving productivity,



commercial performance and project outcomes
Managing project risks, variations, claims, and contractual obligations
Building robust relationships with clients, consultants and stakeholders
Ensuring compliance with safety, environmental and quality requirements
Leading and mentoring Project Engineers, Site Engineers and Supervisors
Delivering projects safely, on schedule and within budget

About You
Proven experience delivering major civil infrastructure projects valued at $10M+
Extensive experience managing bulk earthworks and large‑scale civil construction
Solid leadership experience managing multidisciplinary project teams
Excellent commercial acumen with experience managing contracts and project controls
Strong understanding of safety, environmental and quality management systems
Civil Engineering degree or equivalent industry experience
Excellent communication, planning and stakeholder management skills
