In this role, you will:Provide safe and comprehensive postoperative nursing care across general, colorectal, plastics, breast and endocrine surgical specialtiesDeliver thorough assessments, clinical decision-making, and timely interventions in a fast-paced acute settingSupport patient recovery through effective pain management, wound care, drains management, education, and discharge planningWork collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomesContribute to maintaining a positive and supportive ward culture while upholding high standards of clinical practiceDevelop and extend your skills with exposure to a wide variety of surgical presentations and clinical complexitiesAbout youThis role is ideal for nurses who are adaptable, proactive, and passionate about surgical nursing.
Whether you are an experienced surgical nurse or looking to expand your clinical skills in a high‐acuity environment, you will be supported by an experienced leadership team and strong professional development opportunities.To be successful in this role you willpossess:Current General Nursing registration with AHPRAPrevious experience in a surgical areaPost Graduate qualifications in relevant field (desirable,
not essential)Highly developed interpersonal and leadership experienceA strong commitment to high quality careThe ability to work as part of a diverse teamExcellent communication and organisational skillsHealthcare workers are strongly recommended to follow COVID vaccination recommendations provided in the Australian Immunisation handbook (based on ATAGI advice).
