The Chance
Our brand-new Bright Steps Academy centres are opening soon, and we're looking for a passionate and dedicated Centre Chef / Cook to join our founding team.
This is a unique opportunity to be part of a new centre from day one.
You'll help establish a welcoming kitchen, create nutritious and delicious meals for children, and play an important role in building a positive centre culture where healthy eating is celebrated.

About the Role
As our Centre Chef / Cook, you will:
Plan and prepare fresh, nutritious and balanced meals and snacks in line with the Australian Dietary Guidelines
Cater for children's allergies, intolerances, medical needs and cultural dietary requirements
Develop seasonal menus that are nutritious, varied and child-friendly
Maintain the highest standards of food safety, hygiene and kitchen cleanliness
Manage food ordering, budgeting and stock control
Ensure compliance with food safety legislation and health regulations
Build positive relationships with children and encourage healthy eating habits
Work collaboratively with the Centre Leadership Team to support children's wellbeing
What You'll Bring
A relevant commercial cookery qualification or experience in a similar role
A Food Safety Supervisor Certificate (or willingness to obtain)
Experience preparing meals for young children (highly desirable)
Strong knowledge of food safety, nutrition and hygiene practices
Excellent organisational and time management skills
A warm, positive and team-focused attitude
A passion for creating healthy meals that children enjoy
A current Working with Children Check (or the ability to obtain one)
