Join a Leading Road Profiling Team
Patten Pavement Services (PPS) is seeking experienced and motivated team members to join our high-performing Profiling division.
We are currently recruiting for multiple permanent, casual and contract roles, including:
• Profiler / Cold Mill Operators
• Bobcat Mill Operators
• Level Hands
These positions play an essential role in delivering high-quality road rehabilitation and asphalt preparation works across metropolitan and regional Victoria.
About the Role
Reporting directly to the
Operations Manager,
successful applicants will be part of PPS's Profiling operations, working across a variety of civil and road infrastructure projects.
These roles require strong teamwork, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety and quality outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Profiler / Cold Mill Operators
Operate Wirtgen profiling machinery including 1m and 2m cold milling machines.
Set and maintain cutting depth, grade, and slope using levelling systems including laser, sonic, and 3D control where applicable.
Work closely with Supervisors, Survey, and Ground Crew to achieve project specifications.
Complete pre-start inspections, machine logs, and quality documentation.
Bobcat Mill Operators
Operate skid steer / bobcat milling attachments for detailed and confined area milling.
Assist profiling crews with site preparation and clean-up works.
Support truck loading and material management.




Maintain plant and attachments in line with PPS maintenance standards.
Level Hands
Assist profiling crews with accurate level control and grade monitoring.
Operate levelling equipment and work closely with operators to maintain project specifications.
Support safe and efficient worksite operations including traffic awareness and communication with plant operators.
Assist with general labouring duties, site preparation, and clean-up.
What We're Looking For

Experience
operating
Wirtgen 1m & 2m Profilers
✔️
Bobcat mill & HR /HC license experience
(highly regarded)
✔️ Proven track record in the
road construction industry
✔️
Valid driver's license & Construction Induction Card
(White Card)
✔️ Strong
safety awareness
& understanding of
Safe Work Method Statements (SWMS)
✔️ Ability to
build strong relationships
with internal teams & external clients
✔️ Willingness to work
overtime, night shifts, and travel as required
