About Us:
CD Drilling are a leading trenchless technology contractor conducting horizontal directional drilling (HDD), rock drilling and civil construction works to install below ground assets.
About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead and oversee horizontal directional drilling operations across projects throughout WA.
Reporting to the Directors, the Project Manager is responsible for the day-to-day performance of HDD crews.
This key leadership role involves planning, tendering, coordination, and field supervision of drilling activities, ensuring works are delivered efficiently, safely, and in line with project requirements, and can be based in Perth or Busselton.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead, support, and coordinate drilling operations across multiple sites.
Provide technical guidance and support to Supervisors, Drillers, and Crew.
Review bore plans and provide advice and support with drilling methodology, fluids, and tooling selection.
Conduct site inspections, toolbox meetings, and monitor safety compliance.
Liaise with project and yard teams to ensure equipment, materials, and schedules are aligned.
Maintain QA/QC standards.
Provide training and mentorship to crew members as required.
Required Skills:
Extensive experience in horizontal directional drilling operations with midi-scale bore shots (300m+)
Strong working knowledge of bore tracking, fluid systems, and ground conditions.
Prior experience in a project or operational management role.
Solid understanding of WHS requirements and site safety systems.
Robust leadership and people management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a team.
Excellent problem-solving, decision-making, and communication skills.
Proficiency in reading and interpreting BYDA drawings, specifications, and construction drawings.
Relevant qualifications and certifications (e.g., Project Management qualification, Cert III Trenchless Technology, White Card, HR License, plant/high-risk tickets) are highly regarded.
Ability to work away when required.
