This position will be employed on a casual basis.
Mater has finalised the strategic acquisition of Healthscope's Gold Coast Private Hospital, this is a significant milestone in Mater's commitment to delivering exceptional and compassionate care to Queensland communities.Based at our Gold Coast Campus, this role will be part of our state-of-the-art 339 bed facility located in Southport.
This facility was established in **** and offers a wide range of specialities across Emergency, Medical Services, Orthopaedics, Bariatrics, Neurosurgery, Plastics, ENT, General Surgery, Obstetrics, Cardiac Care and Oncology.Reporting to the Nurse Unit Manager, our Registered Nurses make up a vital and respected part of the nursing team at Mater.
Key duties and responsibilities will include:Delivering and evaluating evidence‐based nursing care within your scope of practiceAdvocating for patients through education, informed consent, and shared decision‐makingAct as a patient advocate ensuring patients are informed and consent is gained prior to proceduresContribute to the maintenance of an environment which promotes safety, security and personal integrity of individual patients and groupsMaintain and adhere to Infection Control policies and practicesComplies with organisational policies, procedures, work instructions and guidelinesAbout youTo be successful in this role you will possess:Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse (no restrictions)Minimum of 1 post grad experience working within an acute medical settingHigh level skills in problem‐solving, communication, coordination and time managementThe ability to contribute effectively and efficiently within a busy,
multidisciplinary team environmentDemonstrated ability to plan and coordinate patient care and competency in clinical problem solvingAvailable to work across all shiftsDemonstrated competency in written and verbal communications and the ability to maintain accurate clinical and assessment dataMater is Queensland's largest not‐for‐profit healthcare provider, delivering exceptional care to nearly 700,000 patients each year across 11 (soon to be 12) hospitals.
