Reporting to the Director of People Operations, you will provide strategic and operational leadership to a team of payroll professionals, ensuring payroll is delivered accurately, compliantly and on time while driving continuous improvement and transformation initiatives.This is an exciting chance for a payroll leader who thrives in a large, complex environment and enjoys balancing operational excellence with innovation, governance and customer experience.Reporting to the Director – People Operations, you will be responsible for:Leading end-to-end payroll operations across Mater entitiesEnsuring payroll accuracy, compliance and service excellenceDriving process improvement, automation and payroll transformation initiativesManaging payroll governance, audits, risk and compliance activitiesMonitoring payroll performance, controls and financial reconciliationsLeading payroll system enhancements, upgrades and implementationsBuilding strong partnerships across People & Culture, Finance, Technology and operational leadership teamsCoaching and developing a high-performing payroll team, including two Payroll Operations Leads and a Payroll Compliance ManagerAbout youYou are a collaborative and influential payroll leader with extensive experience managing payroll operations within a large, industrially complex organisation.Strong knowledge of Australian payroll legislation, taxation, superannuation and enterprise agreementsExperience leading payroll transformation, systems implementation and process improvement initiativesStrong governance, compliance, audit and risk management capabilityExceptional stakeholder engagement and influencing skillsExperience leading and developing high-performing teamsAdvanced analytical and reporting skills, ideally including experience with Power BI,
