Hepburn Shire Council is seeking a
Trails and Maintenance Team Member
to join our Operations team.
In this hands-on role, you'll help maintain and improve our network of tracks, trails and associated infrastructure, ensuring residents and visitors can safely enjoy the natural beauty of Hepburn Shire.
Working as part of a supportive team, you'll contribute to recreation, tourism and community wellbeing while helping deliver safe and enjoyable outdoor experiences.
Position Details
Permanent Full-Time
Band 3 – from $***** per hour plus allowances and leave loading
76 hours per fortnight with a 9-day fortnight
Base location: Creswick Depot
Reports to the Trails and Open Spaces Team Leader
About Us
Hepburn Shire Council is a small rural council located just 90 kilometres from Melbourne, serving the communities of Daylesford, Creswick, Clunes and Trentham.

About the Team
You'll join our Operations team, working alongside the Trails Leading Hand and Trails and Open Spaces Team Leader to maintain the region's trails and public spaces.
We work collaboratively, support one another and take pride in delivering quality outcomes for our community.
How you'll make a difference
You'll help keep our trails safe and accessible by:
Undertaking vegetation management, drainage works, erosion control and minor infrastructure repairs.
Inspecting trails, trailheads and associated infrastructure, identifying maintenance requirements and reporting defects.
Safely operating and maintaining hand tools, power tools and small plant and equipment.
Working collaboratively to deliver high-quality outcomes for trail users and visitors.
About you
We're looking for someone with experience in trail maintenance, parks and gardens, landscaping, conservation, agriculture, construction or another practical outdoor role.
Local government experience is not essential.
You'll also:
Enjoy working outdoors in all weather conditions.
Be committed to safe work practices.
Take pride in producing quality work.
Be a reliable and supportive team member.
Have good communication and time management skills.
Essential requirements
Current Australian Driver Licence
Construction Induction Card (White Card)
