About the Role
As the Community Emergency Planning and Partnerships Officer, you will facilitate meaningful community participation in emergency preparedness and resilience-building activities.
You will support communities to identify local risks, strengths and vulnerabilities, and help develop practical actions that improve preparedness, response and recovery capability.
Reporting to the Team Leader – Community Resilience and Emergency Management, the core responsibilities include:
Develop and maintain productive relationships with community groups, neighbourhood houses, volunteer organisations, emergency services and other stakeholders.
Support communities in the co-design,



documentation, implementation and review of Local Emergency Action Plans (LEAPs).
Coordinate project activities, monitor milestones and maintain project documentation.
Be available to assist with emergency response activities and after-hours activations when required.
About You
Tertiary qualification in community development, emergency management, public policy, social science, environmental studies or a related discipline; or lesser qualifications with significant relevant experience
Understanding of community resilience principles and contemporary emergency management practices
Understanding of the Victorian emergency management framework and the role of local government is desirable
Experience in community engagement, stakeholder management, project coordination or emergency management is desirable
