Boilermaker Learnership
Minimum Qualifications / Experience
Grade 12 (Matric).
An N4/N5 qualification in Boilermaking or Mechanical Engineering will be advantageous.
Willingness to learn and undergo practical training.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of the team.
Ability to work in a quick-paced environment and take initiative.
Physically fit and willing to work overtime when required.
A valid driver's licence will be advantageous.
Duties And Responsibilities (not Limited To)
Assist the Boilermaker Artisan with the fabrication, repair and maintenance of the plant and mobile equipment.
Assist with the manufacture, fitting and replacement of wear liners on Trackless Mobile Machinery (TMMs).
Assist with the repair and maintenance of crusher chutes, bins, conveyors, transfer points and associated plant equipment.
Perform cutting, grinding, gouging and welding activities under the supervision of a qualified Artisan.
Assist with structural fabrication and repair work on Jaw crushers, cone crushers, screens and supporting steel structures.
Assist with the repair and replacement of screen structures,



guards, walkways, handrails and platforms.
Read and interpret basic engineering drawings and technical specifications.
Ensure that welding equipment, cutting equipment and tools are maintained in good working condition, used safely and stored correctly after use.
Conduct routine maintenance inspections and report any defects or unsafe conditions to the supervisor.
Maintain good housekeeping in the workshop and work area.
Comply with all Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) policies, procedure and standard, including correct use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
Perform any other duties related to the learnership as assigned by the Artisan or Maintenance Supervisor.
