Vehicle + Super + OT | Build Our HVAC DivisionElite Trades Australia is growing our HVAC division and we are looking for a serious operator — not just another installer.
We want a mechanical plumber / HVAC technician / senior air conditioning installer who can run jobs properly, manage themselves, take ownership of quality, and help us build a team around them.
This role is for someone who wants more than just turning up, installing a unit, and going home.
You will be trusted to run your day, manage site outcomes, communicate clearly, and help shape how our HVAC division operates.
We are based in Laverton North and complete work across Melbourne.
What you'll be doingYou will be installing and managing HVAC jobs including:
Single-head split systemsMulti-head split systemsDucted refrigerated systemsSystem upgrades and replacementsResidential and light commercial HVAC workSite checks, install planning and job handoversManaging apprentices, labourers or subcontractors as the team growsHelping improve install standards, workflows and quality control
You will be expected to own the job from start to finish — not wait for someone to hold your hand.
What we're looking for
We want someone who:
Has strong HVAC installation experienceMinimum 2-3 years of HVAC installation experience is requiredCan run jobs without being chased all dayTakes pride in clean, compliant, high-quality installsCan deal professionally with customers, builders and internal staffCan plan ahead, order what is needed and avoid messy reattendsIs calm under pressure and can solve problems on siteWants to grow into a leading hand / supervisor / division leader roleCan help train and build a strong HVAC crew underneath them




This is not a role for someone who needs constant supervision.
Licences / experience required
Ideally you will have:
Current driver's licenceMechanical plumbing registration/licence or robust HVAC trade backgroundMechanical plumbing registration/licence is mandatory for this positionARC refrigerant handling licence suitable for the work you performExperience with split systems, multi-heads and ducted installsAbility to read scopes, plan jobs and complete handovers properlyWhite CardStrong attention to compliance, photos, commissioning and paperwork
Gas, electrical awareness, plumbing background or experience in heat pumps is also highly regarded.
