Lead material handler responsible for the safe & accurate transportation of material within and around the warehouse facility; Assists and oversees the safe receipt, storage, retrieval and timely dispatch of orders; Assists in maintaining workplace WHS and an efficient warehouse & packing space.ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIESWorks with the Warehouse Manager and Logistics Coordinator to ensure timely dispatch of ordersLead storeman for assisting in handloading orders for pick upsLead forklift driver for safe storage & movement of palletised materialLead crane operator for handling natural stone slabs and porcelain panels using safety protocolsUnpacks containers both palletised and stone slabs using safety protocol & in a timely mannerUnderstands and learns about new products to ensure the correct items are packed and dispatched to customersResponsible for ensuring accuracy of picksAssist the team by maintaining and keeping the Warehouse Schedule up to dateResponsible for booking couriers for both local & interstate deliveriesAssist with answering phone callsOther duties may be assigned on an adhoc basis as directed by the manager.STOCK MANAGEMENTAssists with regular stock checks,



monthly cycle counts and annual stocktake.Perform Quality Control for new material arrivalsMaintains physical stock in an orderly manner in the racking as per defined by the warehouse layout planRegular upkeep to ensure optimum use of storage spaceReports any breakages immediately so that it can be accessed and adjustments made on the systemWAREHOUSE SUPPLIESResponsible for alerting the Warehouse Manager in maintaining stock levels of essential supplies e.g forklift gas bottles, pallet strapping, shrink wrap, packing tape etc.Responsible for maintaining the bins & emptying them as requiredMAINTENANCEMaintains an efficient warehouse & packing spaceMaintains WHS and a clean workspaceReports any faults or issues with material handling equipment to the ManagerReports any faults or issues with racking system, floors, roller doors, etc to the ManagerSAFETYComplies with federal, state, and local warehousing, material handling, and shipping requirements by studying existing and current legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; advising management on needed actions.Ensures a safe working environment for staff and that all state and federal legislation covering workplace safety is complied with.Forklift licence is a mustOverhead crane experience will be highly regarded
