The IKA FOUNDRY is seeking a dedicated and skilled Aquaculture workers to join our team in Yamba, NSW.
There are multiple roles for a range of experiences.
We offer an exciting opportunity to contribute to our growing aquaculture operations.
You will play a vital part in supporting the sustainable production of aquatic species and ensuring the highest standards of animal welfare and environmental stewardship.
This role is based on-site in Yamba, NSW ****, where you will work closely with our experienced aquaculture team to maintain and develop our facilities and practices.What you'll be doingMonitoring and maintaining optimal water quality conditions, including temperature, pH, dissolved oxygen and ammonia levelsPreparing and administering appropriate feed to aquaculture stock in accordance with established protocols and nutritional requirementsConducting daily health and welfare checks on farmed species and reporting any concerns to managementMaintaining detailed records of stock management, feeding schedules, water quality data and any incidents or observationsAssisting with the cleaning, maintenance and repair of aquaculture equipment, tanks and facility infrastructureHarvesting and processing in compliance with food safety and hygiene standardsContributing to compliance with environmental regulations and sustainable aquaculture practicesCollaborating with team members to identify and implement improvements to operational efficiency and animal welfareWhat we're looking forPractical experience in aquaculture operations, fish farming or related aquatic animal husbandryKnowledge of water quality management and the factors affecting aquatic species health and growthUnderstanding of fish nutrition, feeding protocols and biosecurity proceduresProficiency in basic record-keeping,
data collection and the ability to work with aquaculture management systemsPhysical fitness and capability to perform manual labour in outdoor and wet environmentsStrong attention to detail and commitment to animal welfare and environmental responsibilityExcellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a teamRelevant qualifications or certifications in aquaculture, fish health or related disciplines are advantageousA valid driver's licence and willingness to undertake ongoing career development trainingWhat we offerAt The IKA FOUNDRY, we are committed to supporting the development and wellbeing of our team members.
