The Technical Design Developer is responsible for supporting all design and production processes and ensuring they run as planned, and on time.
In addition to working with the Lead Designer and Production Manager, this role also ensures the smooth running of all general workroom functions.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign assistanceDesign researchRange planningGraphic and style design developmentFabric & trim sourcingTechnical drawingsSwatch templatesMeasurement templatesProcurementSupply chain / lead timesPattern making and alterationsSample cuttingSewing of toilesSewing of finished sales samples (when required)Organise and distribute salesman samples for national and international agentsFinished sales samples – final QC to ensure all samples are ready to be handed to sales teamFinishing patterns ensuring all patterns are checked and complete and ready to be handed to productionCompleting usage estimates to hand over to productionLiaising with local and international makers in the development od samplesAid with the costing of garments for handoverAssist with fittings by taking explicit notes and conveying to the appropriate party (patternmaker, factory or production team)Aid the Production Manager when required, including the creation of tech packs, preparing trims for factories and other day-to-day production requirementsAny other task/projects that may be required as advised by the Production ManagerEnsure workroom is kept neat and tidyCo-ordinate and time manage tasks and timelines for sampling and production developmentEnsure your own work environment is conductive to good occupational health and safety by complying with occupational health and safety policies, procedures and instructions and taking care for your own health and safety and the health and safety of others who may be affected by your actionsAs you are working with a small team, your role will be flexible and you may be asked to complete tasks outside the tasks outlined in your job description.
