Make an Impact.Kanji Group is looking for an experienced Payroll Officer to join our team in SydneyThis is an opportunity to take ownership of end-to-end payroll across a diverse national workforce while working alongside HR and Finance to deliver a high-quality payroll service.
If you're a payroll professional who enjoys solving problems, improving systems, and ensuring every employee is paid accurately and on time, we'd love to hear from you.About the RoleReporting to the Group Payroll Manager, you'll be responsible for managing end-to-end payroll processing across multiple payroll cycles.
You'll also play a key role in payroll compliance, reporting, system improvements, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.This is a hands-on role that requires strong technical payroll knowledge, attention to detail, and the confidence to work independently.Key ResponsibilitiesProcess end-to-end payroll across multiple payroll frequencies, ensuring accuracy and complianceInterpret Awards, Enterprise Agreements, and company policies to ensure correct employee paymentsManage payroll activities across the employee lifecycle, including onboarding, transfers, leave, and terminationsCalculate leave entitlements, superannuation, PAYG, redundancy, and other payroll adjustmentsMaintain accurate employee records within the payroll systemInvestigate and resolve payroll queries and discrepancies in a timely mannerProcess back pays, WorkCover payments, and payroll adjustmentsPrepare payroll journals, reconciliations, and month-end reportingProduce payroll reports, including headcount, staff movements, leave liabilities, payroll comparisons, and compliance reportingPartner with HR and Finance to ensure payroll data integrity and complianceSupport payroll system improvements, testing,
