Together, we're building stronger communities and a more sustainable tomorrow.We're entering an exciting phase of growth, and we're looking for a Contract Specialist to help us lead the way.As Contract Specialist (Transmission Delivery), you'll be responsible for providing timely and accurate support to the Project Managers in the effective contractual management of capital delivery projects to deliver the best commercial outcomes.You will support by proactively advising and assisting Project Managers in the interpretation of contractual events and communications, understanding and quantification and forecasting of contractual risks, ensuring that project teams and delivery partners comply with commercial and contractual obligations.This hybrid role (Office/WFH) is based in Southbank, Melbourne, and sits within our Transmission Deliveryteam.This role will deliver real outcomes, including but not limited to:Management and advising on contract variations including quantum and entitlementEngaging with project team to draft contractual correspondenceDevelopment and management of project risks registers to help inform accurate project forecasting via sound contingency management.Use of Monte Carlo risk simulation to inform risk and contingency allowance at a project levelUnderstanding key contractual and commercial risks across the portfolioChallenge contractors when appropriate on the quality and accuracy of contractual and commercial communications and submissionsInput and support at pre-contract stage to identify and mitigate contractual ambiguitiesEngaging with project team to complete delay and cost assessmentsAttend project meetings and represent AusNet from a commercial perspectiveProvide support on commercial elements of tender evaluations and assessmentsWork with internal and external technical teams to analyse cost impacts for potential variations to project scope of scheduleYou don't need to tick every box; however, we are looking for a positive combination of:Demonstrated experience in quantity surveying, contract administration or commercial management within the construction, infrastructure or utility industryExperience and understanding of contractual risk awareness and quantificationUnderstanding of various risk modelling techniquesHigh level organisational skills and demonstrated effectiveness handling multiple tasks, setting priorities, managing timeframes and meeting deadlinesStrong understanding of various forms of contract and procurement routesKnowledge of SAP, Power BI and risk analysis tools, advantageousKnowledge and experience in the use of contract management platforms (e.g. Procore)Sound understanding of project management practices and techniquesExperience in drafting contractual communicationsRelevant tertiary qualification (e.g. Engineering, Project Management or Quantity Surveying) preferredThe AusNet experience is all about...Growing your impact: We'll support you to build your career through real opportunities and strong connections.Solving some of the most complex energy challenges of our time:We love unpacking complex challenges in clever ways and looking at things differently.Building an energy future to be proud of:We're a trusted leader, with deep expertise, driven to do what's right for our communities and customers.We're committed to building an inclusive culture and a diverse workforce.
