The Role
As Special Counsel at Eliza Legal, you will:
Manage your own caseload of family law matters, including complex parenting and property disputes
Provide high-level legal advice from initial consultation through to resolution
Draft affidavits, court documents, correspondence, agreements and submissions
Appear in the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia (as appropriate)
Mentor and support junior lawyers
Build robust, trusted relationships with clients, counsel and referrers
Contribute positively to the culture, leadership and growth of the practice
What We're Looking For
Admitted Australian legal practitioner with significant experience in family law
Accredited specialisation or post‐graduate qualifications in family law are highly regarded
Demonstrated ability to manage complex family law files autonomously, and within a team
Strong leadership qualities, with a genuine interest in mentoring and supporting others
Excellent drafting, advocacy, negotiation and communication skills
High levels of professionalism, discretion and emotional intelligence
A practical, client‐focused approach to family law
Someone who doesn't take life too seriously and has a good sense of humour
