Infrastructure, Azure & Security EngineerWestbourne Grammar is seeking an experienced Infrastructure, Azure & Security Engineer to own the security, reliability and continuous improvement of our cloud, infrastructure and cyber security environment, spanning Azure, Microsoft 365, identity and access management, Conditional Access, Microsoft Defender, Sentinel, Intune, data protection, automation, VMware and enterprise networking.The OpportunityThis is a hands‐on role at the centre of our security uplift, working closely with the Director of ICT to strengthen our posture against the NIST Cybersecurity Framework and Australian Essential Eight.
You will have scope to shape the roadmap, mentor ICT colleagues, and see the impact of your work across the whole school community.About YouYou are a security-minded infrastructure professional with:Strong hands‐on experience across Azure, Microsoft 365 and hybrid infrastructureDepth in Microsoft Defender, Sentinel, Intune, Active Directory and Entra IDExperience designing and managing Conditional Access, Identity Governance and Zero Trust security controlsStrong networking knowledge across switching, routing, firewalls, wireless and enterprise network infrastructureExperience with VMware virtualisation, server infrastructure and cloud-hosted servicesStrong scripting and automation skills using PowerShell,



Microsoft Graph and process automation toolsExperience implementing and maintaining security frameworks such as the Essential Eight and NIST Cybersecurity FrameworkExcellent troubleshooting and problem‐solving skills across cloud, infrastructure and cyber security environmentsGreat communication skills, translating technical concepts for non‐technical stakeholdersExposure to Zero Trust, SOC/MDR providers or the education sector is a bonus, not a requirement.Why WestbourneWestbourne is committed to creating an environment where great people can do their best work and continue to grow professionally.
