Striving to support employees on their career journey is a priority and contributes us to being an Employer of Choice.Purpose of the RoleThe Team Leader's primary role is to support the Manager to implement and continuously improve structured,best practice service delivery that systematically engages families in resolving challenges and improving the wellbeing and safety of children.Responsibilities and DutiesProvide leadership and day to day supervision to IFS caseworkersCoordinate service response of referral in takes and enquiries, including triaging of incoming referrals, completing active efforts, identifying key needs, assessing, prioritising, and allocating referralsProvide guidance to IFS staff in the development, implementation and evaluation of case plans that meet the client's individual needsProvide IFS staff with the necessary individual support to perform their duties effectively and efficiently.
This includes providing advice during case consultations, team-oriented meetings, and stakeholder discussionsSupport staff to reflect on their practice, strengths and areas of improvement and build their capacity through role modelling and by providing advice to Manager on staff performance and development opportunitiesMaintain the client information database, ensuring accurateand timely case recording of all tasksWork inside the IFS case management framework and service delivery model,
ensuring high quality and consistent support to clients towards achieving outcomesDevelop and maintain positive and professional relationships with referral partners and other service providersInitiate consultations with the Principal ChildProtection Practitioner (PCPP)on a case-by-case basisBe accountable for achieving targets or KPIs, including indicators that support servicedelivery and CQID strategic and operational plansParticipate and contribute to the organisation's compliance obligations under the ISO ****:**** Quality Management System and Human Services Quality Standards (HSQS)At all times work within CQID's Workplace Health & Safety Policies and ProceduresOther responsibilities as directed by the ManagerQualifications and ExperienceTo be successful in this role you will need to demonstrate capability in the following areas:EssentialHolds a current C Class Queensland Driver's LicenseCurrent Working with Children Check, "Blue Card"Holds or is willing to obtain a First Aid and CPR CertificateA tertiary degree in relevant discipline (Human Services) is essential.
Or minimum 5 years' experience in this area of workDesirableExperience in leading a team to achieve service performance outcomes together.Demonstrated understanding of the Statutory system/Child Protection, incl.
Child Protection Act **** and Human Rights Act ****.Experience in providing successful service delivery to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peopleDemonstrated experience and sound knowledge working within the child and family servicesSkills and AttributesDesirableAbility to manage competing priorities and deliver timely outcomes with limited supervisionCompetent in use of Microsoft Office softwarePhysical ability to undertake job responsibilitiesAbility to develop and maintain client documentation to a high standardSelf-starter, motivated and able to self-manage work tasksStrong connection to and knowledge of local Indigenous CommunityExcellent communication skills, and ability to negotiate, advocate and support conflict resolution in high stress environmentsDesirableExperience in developing and managing case plansAboriginal or Torres Strait Islander heritage preferredHigh level of professionalism, dedication, and enthusiasm
