Build high-performance Front Office trading platforms in a greenfield environmentAbout the role:Our client is a leading financial markets business investing heavily in the next generation of its Front Office trading technology.
As part of a major technology expansion, they're looking for a hands-on Trading Engineer to help design, build and optimise high-performance trading systems supporting electronic trading across multiple asset classes.Working directly alongside traders, quant teams and senior stakeholders, you'll play a key role in developing low-latency applications that underpin real-time pricing, market data and electronic execution.
This is an opportunity to work on complex engineering challenges where performance, scalability and reliability are critical.What's a typical day look like?
Design, develop and optimise low-latency trading applications using Java, C++ and/or PythonBuild and enhance Front Office trading platforms supporting Equities and Fixed Income marketsWork directly with traders and quantitative teams to deliver high-performance technology solutionsDevelop real-time pricing, market data and electronic trading capabilitiesImprove application performance,



scalability and reliability across latency-sensitive systemsBuild and integrate market connectivity using protocols such as FIX and exchange APIsParticipate in architecture discussions and contribute to greenfield platform developmentContinuously identify opportunities to improve execution speed, system performance and engineering best practiceAbout you:Robust commercial experience developing software in Java, C++ and/or PythonExperience building low-latency, high-performance or real-time distributed systemsExposure to electronic trading, market data or Front Office technology environmentsUnderstanding of FIX Protocol, market connectivity or exchange messaging is highly regardedExperience with multithreading, concurrency and performance optimisationComfortable working directly with business stakeholders, traders or quantitative teamsExcellent problem-solving skills with a passion for building scalable, high-performance applicationsExperience within investment banking, proprietary trading, market making or financial markets technologyMust be an Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident
