We are seeking an experienced Senior Data Analyst to join a large Federal Government program focused on building and maintaining high-quality data assets and products within a cloud-based data platform.This is an initial 12-month contract with a further 12-month extension option, offering open market hourly rates based on experience.
This role can be based in Richmond (VIC), Geelong (VIC), ACT or NSW.The opportunityWorking within a small, multidisciplinary team, you will analyse complex datasets, develop coded transformations and contribute to the design, deployment and ongoing improvement of enterprise data products.
You will also provide guidance to junior team members and help maintain strong standards across code, documentation and data quality.Key responsibilitiesDesign, build, deploy and maintain data assets and products within a cloud data platformUndertake data wrangling, profiling and quality assessments across new and existing data sourcesTranslate business requirements and rules into coded data transformationsDesign and prototype current data attributes, datasets and analytical productsComplete data validation testing and remediate defects or anomaliesPresent technical options,



findings and recommendations to stakeholders with varying levels of data literacyMaintain code, documentation and data quality standards across the teamCoach junior analysts and contribute to collaborative problem-solvingAbout youAustralian Citizenship is mandatory to work for this federal government bodyCurrent Baseline ClearanceExtensive data analysis experience, including prototyping solutions from complex and disparate datasetsAt least six years of programming experience across SQL, SAS, R and/or PythonExperience working within an enterprise data warehouse environmentStrong understanding of data pipelines, data modelling and reporting platform architecturesAbility to work independently, manage competing priorities and deliver under tight deadlinesStrong stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to translate business discussions into clear data flows and process documentationCollaborative working style with a strong focus on shared accountability and quality outcomesExperience with Snowflake, other cloud data platforms, SAS Viya, Microsoft Fabric or Power BI will be highly regarded.
