RESPONSIBILITIESDevelop and maintain a working knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, standards and policies relevant to the businessPro-actively provide effective & timely Compliance advice to all lines of business, by analysing legislative & regulatory compliance requirements, and translating those requirements into efficient operational processes, policies & proceduresFrom time to time, review & provide Compliance sign-off on advertising & marketing material, business proposals, policies & procedures, and other related documentsDevelop and implement effective Compliance monitoring programs to ensure compliance with legislative & regulatory requirements, as well as with internal American Express policies & proceduresConduct ongoing Compliance trainingManagement & resolution of compliance gapsCo-ordinate, compile & maintain Compliance reports, inventories of obligations and records of Compliance activitiesContribute to building a compliance culture by actively participating in awareness events, newsletters etc.Provide ongoing support in the management of the Compliance Programs such as AML,



Privacy, DDO, Consumer Credit, Anti-Trust Practices, Anti-Corruption, including the development of policies & procedures, training programs, co-ordination of annual reporting and ongoing reporting (such as AML Reporting, Reportable Situations, Notifiable Data Breaches) requirements to the Regulator, and ongoing monitoring.QUALIFICATIONSExperience within Compliance or related functions preferred– e.g. legal, internal audit, risk managementKnowledge of financial services/products and related compliance requirements.Knowledge of legislative & regulatory requirements in Australia & Current Zealand, including Consumer Credit laws, Fair Trading, Privacy preferredAptitude for analysis, investigation & problem solving, including devising commercially-oriented compliance solutionsExcellent verbal & written communication skillsAbility to partner with business units & influence key stakeholders
