About the role
We are looking for an experienced Water and Wastewater Techincian with a proactive, hands-on attitude to join our team.
You will be responsible for the daily operation and maintenance of water and wastewater treatment systems — including but not limited to filtration, reverse osmosis (RO), chlorination, UV disinfection, SAF, SBR, and MBR technologies.
This role will be required to work in remote locations.
Responsibilities
Conduct preventive and corrective maintenance on water and wastewater treatment equipment, including pumps, motors, instrumentation and control systems.
Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical and process-related faults to minimise downtime and ensure operational reliability.
Inspect, test and calibrate instrumentation, sensors and monitoring equipment to maintain system accuracy and performance.
Support the commissioning, optimisation and continuous improvement of water and wastewater treatment systems.
Analyse operational data and treatment performance trends to identify opportunities for improved efficiency and compliance.
Assist with asset management activities, including maintenance scheduling, equipment condition assessments and lifecycle planning.
Ensure treatment systems operate in accordance with regulatory requirements, environmental standards and company procedures.
Investigate process issues and implement corrective actions to maintain water quality and treatment performance.
Coordinate with contractors, suppliers and site personnel to facilitate maintenance and improvement works.
Prepare technical documentation, maintenance records, inspection reports and compliance-related documentation.
Participate in emergency response and breakdown maintenance activities as required.
Promote and maintain a strong commitment to workplace health, safety and environmental practices.
What we are looking for?
Previous experience in maintaining and operating reverse osmosis and wastewater treatment plants (required)
Engineering background or relevant discipline (highly regarded)
Must have previous SBR experience
Proven hands-on mechanical aptitude and equipment maintenance experience
Demonstrated ability to work independently with strong problem-solving and process knowledge
Experience in troubleshooting and calibrating instrumentation and sensors
Combine the ability to read and interpret engineering drawings into one dot point
Accurate and timely documentation in line with company procedures, quality systems, and safety standards
About you
Strong trouble-shotting and problem-solving skill
Strong commitment to workplace safety and health (WSH) practices
Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
Strong commitment to quality workmanship and attention to detail
Proficient in computer systems and data entry
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and report writing skills
Must hold HR licence
