Monroe Australia is seeking an experienced and results-driven Production Supervisor to join our Clovelly Park, Adelaide manufacturing facility to support our continued growth.This newly created leadership position will play a key role in establishing and leading our afternoon shift while supporting day shift operations to drive safety, quality, productivity, and continuous improvement across the site.Reporting to the Plant Manager, this is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on manufacturing leader with proven experience leading large production teams within a fast-paced, continuous manufacturing environment.
About the RoleAs Production Supervisor, you will be responsible for leading a workforce of 60+ employees, ensuring operational excellence through strong leadership, disciplined manufacturing processes, and a culture of continuous improvement.You will be expected to drive Lean Manufacturing principles, improve production performance, eliminate waste, and develop high-performing teams while maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality, and delivery.
Key ResponsibilitiesLead, coach, and develop a manufacturing team of 60+ employees across multiple production areas.Manage daily production schedules and resources to achieve operational targets.Drive accountability, engagement, and performance across all levels of the production team.Conduct performance management, employee development, succession planning, and workforce capability building.
Continuous Improvement & Lean ManufacturingLead Lean Manufacturing initiatives across the plant.Drive implementation and sustainability of: 5S Workplace Organisation, Lean Manufacturing Principles, Six Sigma Methodologies, 8D Problem Solving, Root Cause Analysis (RCA), Kaizen and Continuous Improvement ProgramsIdentify opportunities to reduce waste, improve efficiency, increase throughput,
and minimise downtime.Facilitate continuous improvement projects and cross-functional problem-solving activities.
Operational ExcellenceMonitor and improve key manufacturing metrics including Safety, Quality, Productivity, Cost, Delivery Performance, Scrap and ReworkEnsure production processes meet customer and business requirements.Drive adherence to standard work, operating procedures, and manufacturing disciplines.Lead investigations into quality concerns and production issues.Utilise structured problem-solving methodologies including 8D and Root Cause Analysis.Ensure corrective and preventative actions are implemented and sustained.Champion a strong safety-first culture.Ensure compliance with all WHS legislation, company procedures, and safe work practices.Lead safety observations, investigations, risk assessments, and corrective actions.Build strong working relationships with employees, union representatives, and leadership teams.Create disciplines, accountability, and support systems aligned to Tenneco's P3 (People, Performance, Pride) Management System.Promote collaboration and teamwork across departments while developing future leaders within the business.
About YouTo be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:
Essential ExperienceMinimum 5-10 years' experience in a Production Supervisor, Manufacturing Manager, or similar leadership role.Proven experience leading manufacturing teams of 60+ employees with excellent communication skillsExperience working within a high-volume,
continuous manufacturing environment.Strong experience implementing and driving Lean Manufacturing systems.Demonstrated experience with 5S Methodology, Six Sigma, 8D Problem Solving, Root Cause Analysis, Continuous Improvement Programs, KPI-driven manufacturing environmentsStrong understanding of manufacturing performance metrics and operational excellence frameworks.High level computer literacy is essential, with experience using SAP or a similar ERP system within a manufacturing environment highly regarded
QualificationsRecognised Trade Qualification and/or tertiary qualifications in Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations Management, Business, or related discipline.
Additional SkillsSound understanding of WHS legislation and safe work practicesFlexibility to support both day and afternoon shift operations as required.
