About the RoleWe're looking for an experienced SMP Engineer to join our team on a remote project site, supporting the planning, coordination and execution of Structural, Mechanical and Piping construction activities.
This is a genuinely hands-on engineering role.
You won't be office-bound, you'll be out on the ground verifying installations, working through technical challenges with supervisors and subcontractors, and translating what's actually been built back into accurate, defensible documentation.
If you enjoy the satisfaction of walking a site, catching an issue before it becomes a problem, and turning as-built works into a clean, compliant record, this role is built for you.
Reporting to the Project Manager, you'll be a key technical point of contact on-site, ensuring SMP works meet quality, safety and design requirements from first principles through to handover.
FIFO from Brisbane or Perth, with roster options of 2:2 or 2:1 to suit your lifestyle.
Competitive hourly rate plus site allowance, with flights and accommodation included.




What You'll Be DoingProviding technical guidance on SMP construction activities, ensuring compliance with specifications and engineering standardsReading, interpreting and clarifying technical drawings, P&IDs; and isometrics for the project teamConducting quality inspections of SMP works, identifying deficiencies and driving timely rectificationPreparing and maintaining redline mark-ups reflecting exactly how the works were built, supporting accurate as-built documentationSupporting fabrication, installation, erection, alignment and testing activities across structural, mechanical and piping scopesAssisting with material coordination, verifying quality and alignment with project requirementsWorking closely with SMP Supervisors and site personnel to resolve technical challenges and keep work fronts movingPromoting adherence to safety protocols and participating in site safety inspectionsTracking and reporting progress on SMP activities, flagging delays early and proposing practical solutions What You'll BringBachelor of Engineering (or equivalent) in Mechanical, Structural or Civil disciplinesPrior FIFO experience, and genuine comfort working on the ground, not just at a deskStrong technical knowledge of structural steel,



mechanical equipment and piping systemsExperience conducting quality inspections and preparing redline/as-built drawingsConstruction Industry Induction Card (White Card) and current C class driver's licenceEngineering experience within construction or mining industriesStrong communication skills, confident liaising with supervisors, subcontractors, designers and inspectors Why HTS?
