Lead Water Safety and Community Impact Across Tasmania
Royal Life Saving NSW | ACT | TAS is seeking an experienced and driven professional to lead our Tasmanian operations as the Tasmania Regional Manager.
This is an exciting leadership opportunity for someone who is passionate about community impact, business growth, stakeholder engagement, and water safety outcomes across Tasmania.
Working closely with government, industry stakeholders, local councils, schools, aquatic facilities, and community organisations, you will play a key role in strengthening Royal Life Saving's presence, programs, and partnerships throughout the region.
You will also lead a small office-based team alongside a network of casual trainers and learn-to-swim teachers to deliver high-quality services and programs aligned with organisational goals.
About the Role
As the Tasmania Regional Manager, you will oversee the strategic and operational management of our Tasmania office, with a strong focus on:
Driving business growth and regional development
Building strong stakeholder and government relationships
Leading operational performance and service delivery
Expanding training and aquatic education programs
Representing the organisation within the community and media
Supporting and developing staff and trainers
Ensuring compliance, reporting, and continuous improvement
This role is ideal for a proactive leader who enjoys balancing strategy, operations, relationship management, and community engagement.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic & Operational Leadership
Develop and implement regional growth strategies
Align operations with organisational objectives and government priorities
Oversee day-to-day regional operations and performance
Manage budgets, reporting, and resource allocation
Business Development & Stakeholder Engagement
Build and maintain relationships with government agencies, councils, aquatic facilities, schools, and industry stakeholders
Identify opportunities to expand programs and services
Represent Royal Life Saving at meetings, forums, events, and within the media where required
Team Leadership
Lead and support a small office-based team
Manage and engage casual trainers and learn-to-swim staff
Foster a positive, collaborative, and high-performing workplace culture
Community Impact
Promote water safety, drowning prevention, and community education initiatives across Tasmania
Strengthen Royal Life Saving's profile and reputation within the region
About You
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
Proven experience in a leadership or management role
Robust stakeholder engagement and relationship-building skills
Experience driving operational performance and business growth
Excellent communication and presentation abilities
Strong organisational and problem-solving skills
Ability to work autonomously while contributing to broader organisational goals
Experience representing an organisation professionally to external stakeholders
Highly Regarded
Experience within the aquatic, training, community, government, or not-for-profit sectors
Understanding of aquatic safety and drowning prevention initiatives
Certificate IV in Training and Assessment
Experience working with government processes and partnerships
