About the role
We are seeking an experienced
Outside School Hours Care Assistant Director
to join our team at MPSOSHC in Macgregor, ACT.
This is a
Permanent
part-time position
offering
30 hours a week
this is an opportunity to develop your leadership skills within a PNC Run Exceeding rated service.
As Assistant Director, you will work alongside the Director to oversee the daily operations of our outside school hours care service, ensuring a secure, engaging and inclusive environment for all children in our care as well as learning business practices.
This role offers 4.5 hours a day with children aged 6-12 as well as 2 hours a day of Admin time on weekdays only.

1:00-6:00 PM
Key responsibilities
Support the Director in managing the overall operations of the outside school hours care service
Supervise and mentor educators and support staff, fostering a positive and collaborative team environment
Ensure compliance with all relevant childcare legislation, regulations and internal policies
Assist in the planning and delivery of age-appropriate activities and educational programs
Maintain accurate records, including attendance, incident reports and child development documentation
Build and maintain positive relationships with families, providing regular communication and support
Contribute to staff recruitment, induction and professional development initiatives
Assist in creating a safe, healthy and welcoming setting that promotes the wellbeing of all children
Support quality improvement initiatives and help implement feedback from parents and stakeholders
Undertake shift coverage as required to ensure adequate staffing levels
Lead Programming Coordinators in planning an engaging Sustainable Holiday Care Program
What we're looking for
Relevant childcare qualification or recognised equivalent (such as a Certificate III or Diploma in Outside School Hours Care or willingness to obtain)
Demonstrated experience working in an outside school hours care or similar childcare setting
Leadership or supervisory experience within an educational or care environment
Strong knowledge of current childcare legislation, including the NQF and CECA
Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively with children, families and colleagues
Sound understanding of child development and age-appropriate practice
Organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities
Current First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain)
Working with Children Check clearance (or ability to obtain)
A genuine passion for supporting children's learning, development and wellbeing
Someone that is reliable, hardworking and great at problem solving and working independently
