We are seeking an experienced and contemporary People and Culture Manager to join our Canberra-based team.
This is an outstanding opportunity for a senior HR professional who is passionate about building high-performing workplaces and shaping organisational culture.
Reporting to the Chief of Staff, this Canberra-based role is offered on a part time basis (0.6 FTE / three days per week) and is suited to someone with significant experience in human resources leadership, strong knowledge of Australian workplace legislation, and a proven ability to influence and support senior leaders.
Key responsibilities include:
As ACCI's lead People and Culture practitioner, you will work closely with the Chief of Staff, CEO and Senior Leadership Team to deliver a contemporary people and culture function that supports the full employee lifecycle, including workforce planning, recruitment, employee relations, leadership support, performance management, learning and development, and organisational culture initiatives.
You will:
Lead the delivery of ACCI's People and Culture strategy,
ensuring alignment with organisational priorities and the objectives of ACCI's Strategic Plan.
Provide trusted advice and coaching to leaders on people management, employee relations, workforce planning, organisational change and workplace issues.
Foster a positive, inclusive and high-performing workplace culture through employee engagement, wellbeing, recognition and culture initiatives.
Manage end-to-end recruitment and onboarding activities, supporting talent acquisition, workforce planning and retention strategies across the organisation.
Lead performance and development processes, including performance reviews, professional development initiatives, leadership capability programs and succession planning.
Provide workforce insights and reporting to support informed decision-making by the Executive and Board.
Ensure compliance with Australian workplace legislation and maintain effective HR policies, procedures, systems and documentation.
Support organisational governance, risk management and continuous improvement activities relating to people, culture and workforce capability.
Manage relationships with external HR, recruitment, learning and development and workplace advisory providers as required.
Capability and Experience:
Minimum 10+ years' experience in Human Resources Advisory and significant experience in senior HR leadership roles
Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources, Business, Psychology or a related discipline.
Strong employee relations expertise and knowledge of Australian workplace legislation
Extensive experience across recruitment, HR operations, strategies and internal policy development
Extensive experience managing employee relations, organisational change and complex workplace matters.
Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills
High levels of judgement, discretion and professionalism.
Experience delivering workforce reporting, performance management and learning and development initiatives.
Highly desirable:
Experience working in a membership-based, advocacy, policy or not-for-profit environment.
Experience operating as a standalone or lead HR practitioner within a small to medium-sized organisation.
