Nelson Bay Golf Club is seeking an experienced and motivated Bar Manager to lead the day-to-day operations of our busy bar and gaming facilities.
This is a hands-on leadership role for a hospitality professional who is passionate about service excellence, compliance, and team development.About the RoleReporting to the General Manager, the Bar Manager is responsible for the end-to-end operation of the Club's bar, ensuring consistently high standards of service for our members and guests, responsible liquor and gaming operations, strong cost control, and profitable promotions - while building and leading a skilled, engaged team.Key ResponsibilitiesManage daily bar operations including opening/closing, cash handling, POS accuracy, and bankingOversee stock forecasting, ordering, rotation, and monthly stock-takeSet and enforce service standards and professionally resolve customer issuesRecruit, induct, train, and coach bar staff across service standards, RSA/RSG, SOPs, hygiene, POS, and cash handlingPlan and deliver profitable beverage promotions and monitor performance outcomesEnsure full compliance with liquor licensing, gaming, RSA/RSG, WHS,



and cash-handling requirementsProvide operational oversight of functions and eventsManage gaming services including poker machines, Keno, and TAB facilitiesDeliver approved standards of hospitality for members and visitors at all timesKey Performance IndicatorsBeverage gross profit and COGS in line with budgetStock variance maintained at or below 1.0% per monthLabor-to-sales ratio within approved targets100% completion of mandatory training requirementsAbout YouYou will bring:Proven experience in bar or hospitality management (club or hotel experience highly regarded)Robust leadership, coaching, and people management skillsSound knowledge of POS systems, stock control, and inventory managementExcellent written and verbal communication skillsThe ability to manage conflict professionally and lead by exampleLicenses & CertificationsCurrent RSA and RCG (NSW) - essentialFood Safety and First Aid certification - desirableWhy Join Us?
