VetComp is seeking a Social Media & Marketing Specialist to join our team on a casual basis.
This is an exciting chance to make a meaningful impact within the marketing and communications sector, supporting an organisation dedicated to serving veterans and their families.
Based in West End, QLD ****, this role will be instrumental in building our digital presence and connecting with our community through strategic social media campaigns and marketing initiatives.

Key responsibilities
Design high-quality static content and infographics as a core, ongoing output - translating complex information (compensation processes, entitlements, campaigns) into clear, visually compelling graphics
Develop, create and manage engaging social media content across multiple platforms, ensuring brand consistency and message clarity
Plan and execute social media campaigns that increase awareness, engagement and community connection with VetComp
Plan and participate in content shoots (filming days, video Q&As;, etc.), covering filming, editing and posting end-to-end
Monitor social media analytics and performance metrics to optimise content strategy and demonstrate return on investment
Respond to community enquiries and manage social media engagement in a timely and professional manner
Collaborate with internal teams to identify marketing opportunities and support broader communications objectives




Research trending topics and industry developments to keep our social media presence current and relevant
Support the development and implementation of digital marketing strategies to reach target audiences
What we're looking for
Advanced, demonstrable skill in infographic and static content design - this is a core requirement, not a nice-to-have.
You should be able to turn dense or technical information into clean, professional, easy-to-understand visuals
Expert-level Canva proficiency, including premium features (brand kits, custom templates, animations), to consistently produce polished, on-brand static content
A portfolio that clearly demonstrates strong infographic and static design work, not just general social posts
Proven experience managing social media accounts with demonstrated success in growing audiences and engagement
Ability to generate original content ideas, including team filming days and video Q&A; sessions
Hands-on experience with filming and video editing
Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to craft compelling, authentic content
Proficiency in social media management/analytics tools (Meta Business Suite, Buffer, Hootsuite or similar)
Knowledge of current social media trends,



algorithms and best practices across Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Twitter and TikTok
Excellent organisational skills and ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
A passion for community engagement and a genuine interest in the veteran services industry
Self-motivated with strong attention to detail and brand consistency
