SDR-Medical Imaging Technologist - CT & MRIAUD $95,000 - $130,000 per annum + Superannuation + Benefits (Salary dependent on experience, modality competencies, and registration status.)Position SummaryWe are seeking a skilled and patient-focused Medical Imaging Technologist with experience in both CT and MRI to join our growing diagnostic imaging team in Melbourne's Eastern Suburbs.
This role offers the opportunity to work with advanced imaging technology in a supportive and collaborative clinical environment.We welcome applications from experienced professionals currently based in New Zealand who are interested in relocating to Australia.The successful candidate will perform high-quality CT and MRI examinations, ensuring exceptional patient care, diagnostic accuracy, and compliance with professional and safety standards.Key ResponsibilitiesClinical ImagingPerform diagnostic CT and MRI examinations according to established protocols.Produce high-quality diagnostic images while maintaining patient comfort and safety.Review imaging requests and ensure appropriate examination protocols are followed.Administer contrast media where qualified and authorized.Monitor patients during procedures and respond appropriately to adverse reactions.Ensure accurate patient identification and clinical documentation.Patient CareProvide professional and compassionate patient care.Explain procedures and obtain informed consent where required.Support patients who may be anxious, unwell,
or have mobility challenges.Maintain patient confidentiality and privacy at all times.Quality & SafetyAdhere to radiation safety principles and MRI safety standards.Ensure compliance with professional, legislative, and organizational requirements.Participate in quality assurance and continuous improvement initiatives.Maintain imaging equipment and report faults promptly.Team CollaborationWork closely with Radiologists, Medical Imaging Technologists, Nurses, and Administrative Staff.Contribute to a positive and collaborative workplace culture.Support training and mentoring of junior staff and students where appropriate.Essential RequirementsQualificationsBachelor's Degree in Medical Imaging, Medical Radiation Science, or equivalent qualification.Current registration or eligibility for registration with the Medical Radiation Practice Board of Australia.Current Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) registration or eligibility to obtain registration.ExperienceDemonstrated experience performing CT examinations independently.Demonstrated experience performing MRI examinations independently.Experience in a hospital or private practice imaging environment.Strong understanding of imaging protocols and patient safety requirements.SkillsExcellent communication and interpersonal skills.Strong attention to detail and diagnostic image quality.Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.Sound problem-solving and organizational skills.Desirable CriteriaCurrent MRI accreditation.Contrast injection certification.Experience with Siemens, GE, Philips, or Canon imaging systems.Experience in advanced MRI procedures.Experience in interventional CT procedures.Previous experience working in Australia or Current Zealand healthcare systems.
