In this role, you'll provide technical support and engineering expertise for sophisticated automated material handling systems.
You'll be responsible for system diagnostics, controls upgrades, PLC programming, commissioning activities, customer support, and continuous improvement initiatives across our customer sites.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys troubleshooting complex systems, working directly with customers, and delivering innovative automation solutions in mission-critical environments.Hours of Work: Monday to FridayOn Call Roster: approximately 10 weeks per annumTasks and Qualifications:WHAT YOU WILL BE WORKING ONProviding second level technical support to maintenance team as requiredParticipate in the On-Call after hours support rosterConformance to OHS&E; standards in the design and execution of all workPrepare/assist with budget costing and quotingDevelopment of functional specificationsComplete regular system diagnostics and analysis procedures and provide customer reportsPreparation of PLC programs and configuration of SCADA and PLC-related equipment e.g. HMI's,
Scanners, Roller drive-cards and VSD'sReport on designed/installed equipment which is not performing to the design specificationsTesting and commissioning systems on sitePreparation of test plans and operator & technical manualsTraining client personnel and providing customer supportAssist with interstate or some overseas projects when requiredSETTING YOU UP FOR SUCCESSDegree qualified: engineering or scientific discipline or electrical trade with tertiary qualifications in the areas of engineering /electronics/mechatronicsElectrical trades licence qualification is highly regardedKnowledge of configuration, programming and commissioning of PLCs (Siemens S7 preferred), variable speed drives, barcode scanners and safety devicesKnowledge of SCADA applications like ICONICS, CITEC and WINCCKnowledge of materials handling system controls is highly desirable such as conveyors and sortationAbility to work without supervision and guide teams/projectsExcellent verbal and written communicationElectrical trades licence qualification is highly regardedFlexibility to travel interstate, regional areas and overseasWHY BRING YOUR CAREER TO DEMATICEmployee engagement is high at 80% in our recent employee survey Average tenure is 8 years, with 12% internal promotions and transfers annually because we actively invest in developing our people.
