This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys working with intricate components, solving technical challenges and creating products that make a meaningful difference in healthcare.You'll be responsible for assembling highly precise miniature modules, building complex instruments, performing delicate repairs and supporting testing and development activities.
Your attention to detail and craftsmanship will play an significant role in ensuring every device performs to the highest standard medical standards.What you'll be doingAssembling optical and mechanical components into precision sub-assemblies and modulesBuilding complete confocal microscopy instrumentsPerforming functional testing using diagnostic tools to verify performance and identify faultsTroubleshooting, repairing, reworking, servicing and recalibrating precision modulesCarrying out delicate component-level repairs and adjustmentsReading and interpreting technical drawings, wiring diagrams, PCB layouts and assembly documentationSupporting the development of new designs and improvements to existing productsInspecting components and assemblies to ensure they meet safety, regulatory and performance requirementsMaintaining accurate service logs, calibration records,



test results and repair documentationKeeping a clean, organised and safe workspace where quality comes firstAbout youYou're someone who enjoys precision work and understands that the smallest details can have the biggest impact.You'll likely bringA Certificate, Diploma or completed apprenticeship in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Precision Engineering or a related disciplineExperience with fine mechanical assembly, miniature components, tools, jigs and precision equipmentStrong manual dexterity, fine motor skills, and the ability to work confidently with small, intricate components using precision tools and equipmentA steady hand and the ability to perform delicate assembly work with accuracy, patience and careExperience with hand soldering of surface mount components is highly desirableThe ability to interpret schematics, PCB layouts, wiring diagrams and technical drawingsA methodical approach with patience, focus and excellent attention to detailA commitment to quality and pride in producing work you can stand behindAbility to read and interpret assembly drawings, wiring diagrams, schematics, BOMs and work instructions.An understanding of working within cleanroom environments, including hygiene requirements and PPE protocolsPrevious experience working in environments that adhere to TGA, FDA, GMP, ISO *****, or other strict regulatory standards (highly regarded)The kind of person who succeeds hereYou enjoy working with your hands.You are patient,
